Participating in Local & National Horse Shows Year-Round

Four Winds participates at shows both locally and nationally year-round. We attend horse shows that offer classes for those just beginning through the advanced level in hunters and jumpers.

Horse Team Show

Professional rides are given during the week in order for the horses to get as much time as they need in the show ring.

We start each season by attending the HITS Ocala Winter Circuit horse shows. Our spring and summer schedule continues on with shows recognized by the USEF/USHJA, HJAM, and MHSA, plus many other affiliated organizations. These shows include Brownland Farm, HJAM Spring Series, Country Heir, Horse Shows by the Bay, Kentucky Horse Shows, and on to the Fall Indoor Circuit with those qualifying horses and riders. In order to broaden our horizons, we like to pick a couple of new horse shows each year. We feel that it is good to know what the competition is outside our “comfort zone.” This teaches both the horses and the riders to stay sharp and up to date on their skills in competition.

We have had many junior riders qualify for the ASPCA regional competition, as well as the USEF Medal at Harrisburg. Our horses and riders have also shown at Junior Hunter Finals in Saugerites, New York, as well as the Capital Challenge Horse Show. We have had our own “Klondike” compete at Harrisburg in the 2nd year green in 2007 and regular working in 2008. He earned respectable ribbons and jogging honors both years attended. Our own Ehrin Rittmueller guided him in her first two years back after a 10-year hiatus from the fall indoor circuit. In 2009, she showed “Klondike” in the regular working hunters at the Devon Horse Show, also earning respectable ribbons. In 2010, she guided Travis Lingenfelter’s “Van Gogh” to the 2nd year confirmation hunters at Capital Challenge, Harrisburg, and the Washington International Horse Show, earning respectable ribbons. Allie Braeutigam and “Corporate Raider” swept the NAL Children’s Jumper series in the Midwest during her junior years, qualifying them for the finals, then at Capital Challenge. They not only won every NAL class they showed in throughout the Midwest, but also took home 6th at the finals!

We offer expert coaching, training, and riding in order to bring out the best efforts of both the horse and rider. Our knowledge from our 25 years of experience in the “horse show world” has given us not only skills in teaching and training, but also the opportunity to make contacts with other top professionals, trainers, and riders throughout the country.

We provide the transportation of the horses and equipment to and from the horse shows. Our fees for transportation vary with the price of fuel.
